Before Exam Day Checklist
Before your appointment, make sure you have:
- A computer that meets all technical requirements
- A reliable internet connection
- A private testing space that meets the testing environment requirements
- Acceptable identification
- An approved physical whiteboard or online whiteboard (if permitted)
- Completed any required system checks or software installation
We also recommend restarting your computer before your appointment and closing all unnecessary applications.
Confirm Your Computer Meets the Technical Requirements
Your computer must meet all published technical requirements for the online assessment.
Requirements include:
- Supported operating system
- Compatible web browser
- Working webcam
- Working microphone
- Stable internet connection
School or work computers may have security settings that prevent the assessment software from running properly. Whenever possible, use a personal computer.
Prepare Your Testing Environment
Your testing location must:
- Be private
- Be quiet
- Be well lit
- Have a clear desk or table
- Be free of unauthorized materials and electronic devices
You may be asked to complete a room scan before your assessment begins.
Review the online testing environment requirements before exam day to avoid delays during check-in.
Whiteboard Requirements
During the assessment, you may use only the approved whiteboard option(s).
Review the whiteboard requirements before your appointment to ensure your materials comply with policy.
Install Required Software
You may be required to install secure testing software before your appointment.
We strongly recommend installing and testing any required software before exam day.
If you experience installation issues, contact technical support before your appointment whenever possible.
Launch Your Online Assessment
The Launch Assessment button will appear in your mba.com account approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
To begin:
- Sign in to your mba.com account.
- Open your upcoming EA appointment.
- Select Launch Assessment.
- Complete the check-in process.
- Follow your proctor's instructions to begin your assessment.
Important: Your appointment will be automatically canceled if you do not launch your assessment within 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment time.
Complete the Check-In Process
Before your assessment begins, you will complete a security check-in.
During check-in, you will be asked to:
- Present your acceptable identification, including both the front and back if applicable.
- Complete a 360° room scan of your testing area.
- Show your approved whiteboard and confirm that both sides are blank before the assessment begins.
Your proctor will review your identification and testing environment before starting your assessment.
Connect With Your Proctor
Once your check-in is complete, you will be connected with a Pearson VUE proctor.
Your proctor will:
- Verify your identification.
- Review your testing environment.
- Confirm that your workstation complies with testing requirements.
- Start your assessment session.
During Your Assessment
To help protect the integrity of the EA, you must follow all testing rules throughout your appointment.
Important reminders:
- Breaks are not permitted, except in limited emergency situations approved by your proctor.
- Keep your eyes focused on the screen and avoid looking away unnecessarily.
- Only approved testing materials may be used during the assessment.
- Unless otherwise permitted, you may use one physical whiteboard and dry-erase markers.
Failure to follow the testing rules may result in your assessment being terminated.
If You Experience Technical Issues
If you experience technical issues before or during your assessment:
- If your internet connection is interrupted, restart your router if necessary and relaunch your assessment.
- If you have already connected with a proctor, follow the instructions provided during your session.
- If your proctor has not joined after approximately 15 minutes, remain on the check-in screen before attempting additional troubleshooting.
- If you experience an emergency or cannot reconnect to your assessment, contact Pearson VUE Support immediately.
Technical issues are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Key Appointment Policies

No. Mobile hotspots and tethering are not permitted for online testing.
What happens if my computer does not meet the technical requirements?
If your computer does not meet the published requirements, you may not be able to start or complete your assessment. It is your responsibility to verify your system before exam day.
