If you encounter a technical issue that prevents you from starting your exam
Your proctor will work with you to resolve the issue. If your issue cannot be resolved promptly, your appointment will be canceled, and you will be able to register for a new appointment.
If you encounter a technical issue after you have started the exam
Online Exam:
If there is a technical issue after you have started the exam, you should bring it to the proctor's attention immediately by raising your hand or starting a chat session from the exam window. The proctor will attempt to resolve the issue promptly. If your technical issue cannot be resolved and you are unable to proceed with your exam, your session will be ended. In this situation, you may be allowed to register for and take the exam again at no additional cost. You will have to wait 16 days to test again.

Test Center/In Person Exam:
If there is a technical issue after starting the exam, you should immediately bring it to the test administrator's attention by raising your hand. The test administrator will attempt to resolve the issue promptly. If your technical issue cannot be resolved in a timely manner you will have the option to end your exam. You will be provided a case number if you cannot continue your exam. In this situation, you may be allowed to register for and retake the exam at no additional cost. You will have to wait 16 days to test again. GMAT Customer Service will contact you with the next steps within five business days.
If the test administrator can resolve the issue in a timely manner, you may continue your exam.
