Can I opt out of sending a GMAT Superscore to a program?
You cannot opt out of sending a GMAT Superscore. If you have a GMAT Superscore, it will automatically be included as part of your Official School Score Report when you choose to send a single attempt score to a program. If you do not have a GMAT Superscore (because you have only taken the GMAT once, or because you scored the highest across all three sections in a single attempt), it will be made clear on the Official School Score Report.
How will this show up on my Official Score?

How will this show up on the score report I send to a school/program?
The score report that schools receive will include:
- Candidate details
- GMAT Superscore data (if a GMAT Superscore exists)
- Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights section scores used to calculate the GMAT Superscore.
- The exam date and delivery method (online or test center) associated with each section score used in the GMAT Superscore calculation.
- An explanation that the GMAT Superscore is calculated using the highest eligible section scores from valid GMAT exam attempts of the latest edition.
- Individual scores sent to a program in the past 5 years
What happens if I already sent a score with a GMAT Superscore and my GMAT Superscore increases after taking the exam again?
If you have already sent a score report to a program that included your GMAT Superscore and then take the exam again, resulting in an increased GMAT Superscore, you will need to send a single attempt score to the program again. When you do, your updated GMAT Superscore will automatically be included and shared with your chosen programs.
What happens if my GMAT Superscore is the same as my highest single exam Total Score?
If you have a GMAT Superscore that is the same as your single exam attempt Total Score, the GMAT Superscore may still be displayed and sent to the program if it is made up of different section-level scores from multiple attempts. In that case, the program would still see the GMAT Superscore as an additional data point, offering a fuller view of your sustained effort across multiple attempts and overall potential.
Are schools aware of GMAT Superscore?
Schools have been informed about the introduction of GMAT Superscore and will receive guidance and supporting information on how it will appear within Official School Score Reports.
What if a school says they do not accept GMAT Superscores?
A GMAT Superscore is intended to provide additional insight into evaluating a candidate. It is up to the discretion of the school whether to use this in part of their admissions criteria or not. However, we recommend you still send your score—which automatically includes your GMAT Superscore (if available)—because a school will see this information on the Official School Score Report and may take it into consideration in certain situations. Note that schools are aware that a GMAT Superscore is automatically sent alongside the single attempt score that is sent to a school/program, and that candidates cannot opt out of sending a GMAT Superscore if they have one.
